Vibrant Matter

Knut Jonas Sellevold is a Bergen-based artist, producer, DJ, and researcher. Knut's work is anchored in his academic background in sound studies and ethnomusicology, with a particular focus on music education, sound pedagogy, ecology, and decolonisation. He explores these themes through his monthly radio show Vibrant Matter on Radio AlHara in Palestine and Vers Libre Community Radio in Bergen. Knut has done several releases and collaborations under his moniker King Knut, including collaborations with Foreign Beggars, Om Unit and The XX among others. His music has received support and airplay from Wire Magazine, XLR8R, NTS Radio, Mixmag, Music Is My Sanctuary, and DJs like Zakia, Trevor Jackson, Bill Brewster, and Cherrystones. His latest EP is a collaboration with Jamaican dancehall MC I Jahbar (Duppy Gun/Bokeh Versions) and is due in 2024 on Fine Grains Records.
